Our Fuel Adjustment Factor

Our Fuel Adjustment Factor

Fuel costs are a significant and variable component of the price that our valued customers pay for Gleeson & Cox Transport services. We work hard to keep these costs down through participation in the Energy Efficiency & Conservation Authority’s (EECA) Heavy Vehicle Fuel Efficiency programme.

With increases in fuel tax and the volatility of global oil prices in general, Gleeson & Cox Transport advise that we are no longer able to absorb these rising costs and will be implementing a Fuel Adjustment Factor (FAF) on the cartage component of our transport services from 1st October 2021, subject to Gleeson & Cox Terms and Conditions.
The FAF will be added to the cartage component of your invoice and is calculated on the Average Diesel Discounted Retail Price (ADP, Column M); net of GST in the ‘Weekly Table [CSV]’ under ‘Data and data sources’ as notified by the MBIE weekly fuel price monitoring page on their website. The FAF for any given month will be set at the end of the previous month based on the latest ADP – see the table to the right – and published on our website.
May 2023 FAF = 5.2%
